Department of Ophthalmology

Children with eye problems, difficulty with vision screening exams or having difficulty reading or learning, or those needing surgery or medical treatment for an illness affecting the eyes are taken care of at this department.

The Department of Paediatric Ophthalmology treats children from new born period till 18 years of age. Besides the regular facilities required for an eye examination, the department is well equipped with equipments for examining very small children (vision charts for young children, hand held slit lamp, indirect ophthalmoscope etc…) and with instruments necessary for performing micro-surgery on the eyes. The Department also conducts screening and treatment for premature newborn babies who may have Retinopathy of Prematurity.

WE HAVE THE FACILITY TO DIAGNOSE AND TREAT

  • Common eye problems like redness of eyes, boils on the lids, watering, blinking, headache etc…
  • Refractive errors ( Myopia, Hypermetropia & Astigmatism)
  • Squint evaluation and management (surgical and non-surgical)
