3: SIGNIFICANT EVENTS / DEVELOPMENTS:
3.1: COVID TESTING & VACCINATION:
3.1.1: COVID_TESTING: Our CTMRF Molecular Laboratory continues to carry out Covid 19 RTPCR Testing at our Hospital and during May 2021, 143 samples were tested. The newly commissioned “TRUE LAB DUO REAL TIME MICRO PCR WORK STATION” (Donated by Cholamandalam Investments) to carry out Covid Tests at a rapid speed, got NABL Accreditation, followed by ICMR approval.
3.1.2: COVID VACCINATION CENTRE (CVC): Since the Government has stopped the supply of Vaccines from 1st May 2021, we have placed Order for supply of 1500 doses of Covishield, directly with the Manufacturer, M/s. Serum Institute, Pune. The supply is expected by 15th June 2021.
3.2: BMTU: The sixth BMTU patient, a 16 year old girl, diagnosed to have Thalassemia Major was admitted on 20th May 2021 and underwent Stem Cell Infusion on 28th May 2021. The girl is expected to be discharged around 14th June 2021. The approximate cost of BMT is around Rs. 16 lakhs, which is being organized by the patient’s close relatives and friends.
3.3: RESEARCH PROJECT: A Research Project on Covid 19, was sanctioned by M/s. John Hopkins University, USA, with funding from National Institute of Health (NIH), USA. The expected Grant will be to the extent of Rs. 40 lakhs. The Principal Investigator for the above Project, will be Dr. S. Balasubramanian, Medical Director.
3.4: CONCILIATION PROCEEDINGS: The Conciliation Proceedings posted for Hearing by the Assistant Commissioner of Labour on 27th May 2021, did not take place, on account of the total Lock Down, announced by the Govt. of Tamil Nadu.
3.5: ACCREDITATION:
3.5.1: NABH ACCREDITATION FOR HOSPITAL: After the Desktop Surveillance, NABH has continued the Accreditation to our Hospital till 23rd Feb. 2022.
3.5.2: ISO 9001: 2015: The new Certificate issued to our Hospital for Quality Management System under ISO 9001: 2015, is valid till 24th Jan . 2024.
3.5.3: NURSING EXCELLENCE: Based on the recommendation of the Primary Assessor for extension of the ‘Nursing Excellence’ Certification, to our Hospital, we are awaiting the Certificate from NABH Secretariat.
3.5.4: NABL ACCREDITATION: Since the current NABL Accreditation for our Laboratory was valid only upto 11th Aug. 2021, we have submitted the renewal application through the Online portal. It is expected that an Online Audit will be conducted during July 2021.
3.6: DONATIONS: We have received a donation of Rs. 10 lakhs towards Covid treatment from Zoho Corporation Private Ltd., through our Trustee, Mr. Sridhar Vembu.
We have also received the following donations towards purchase of a Bipap Machine and 2 nos. of Patient Monitors, respectively.
