DEPARTMENT OF NEPHROLOGY
We take care of kidney problems of children in our outpatient and inpatient services. The other services provided are hemodialysis, continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis, plasmapheresis and renal biopsies. We have 2500 outpatient visits/per year. We have 5 to 10 children/ per day as inpatients who require Nephrology advice in wards and intensive care units. We have done about 500 hemodialysis sessions and 50 sessions of plasmapheresis over the last 3 years. We have had 12 children with End stage renal disease for whom continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis training was done and were discharged to have home dialysis over the last three years.
