Emergency Care
At the Emergency Department, we care for children aged one month to 18 years. Children up to one month old are taken care of in the Neonatology department. Of the total admissions in any time period, approximately 40-50% need emergency care. Sick children are stabilized in the Emergency room and then shifted to the appropriate wards . The department also handles medico-legal cases including trauma. The department has two emergency and seven holding area beds where the children are monitored and stabilized. The emergency room is well equipped with monitors, medication and trained personnel who are available round-the-clock.
The Department is also a recognized training center for the Fellowship in Pediatric Emergency Medicine conducted by the Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University
